My name is Nicholas A. Massoth, DMD, and I would like to thank you for visiting our web site. I would like to personally tell you about myself, the history of our office, and my outstanding team. I have been practicing as a Board Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon in Caldwell since 2005, and look forward to many more great years.
I graduated from Nampa High School in 1991, though I grew up in Buhl, Idaho. I was raised on a small family farm by two wonderful parents, along with my brother Louis and sister, Elisa. My grandfather and great grandfather were general dentists.
I attended Boise State University and went to dental school at Temple University, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After graduating in the year 2000, I relocated to Denver, Colorado and completed a one year general practice residency. Subsequently, I was accepted into the Oral and Maxillofacial program and completed my residency in 2005. My 14 years of college, dental school and oral surgery residency were some of the most fulfilling years of my life.
In my final year of residency, my brother Louis and I decided to build a practice from the ground up. Canyon County Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery was built, outfitted, and staffed. We had our grand opening within a week of my move back home to Idaho. Since July of 2005, our office has been honored to serve this community. We have been blessed to treat great patients and are consistently busy and challenged.
My brother, Louis Massoth, LCSW, also went to Boise State University and then completed a Master’s degree in Social Work in San Antonio, Texas. He worked as a marriage and family counselor for 8 years at West Valley Medical Center, here in Caldwell. In my final year of training, Louis had our office constructed, equipped, staffed, marketed and ready for patients upon my arrival. Although we are not twins, we are asked this question nearly every day. We know how lucky we are to work with one another, and always have each other’s back.
We have four amazing and talented women who work here as well. Krista Massoth, B.S., R.T (CT) (M), is my sister-in-law, and has been assisting me in surgery since our doors opened. She also graduated from Boise State University, has a degree in Radiology Technology, and has over 20 years experience in patient care. She is reserved, professional and is a huge compliment to our team.
Cynthia Bittick has also been with us since the beginning. She is the veteran of my team, with over 45 years of experience in dentistry, orthodontics and oral surgery. She is perhaps the most energetic, positive and compassionate person I have ever had the pleasure of working with. Cynthia is dependable and dedicated, no matter how long or hard the day might be.
Melissa Collins, B.S., graduated from the College of Idaho in 2010, with a degree in Health Sciences. After completing an internship in our clinic, she was offered a job and began working in our business office. Melissa quickly earned our deepest respect and trust. She keeps our office organized and pays great attention to detail. She is dedicated to our patients and never leaves questions unanswered. Our patients constantly remind me of her competence and pleasant nature.
The most recent addition to our team graduated from Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in Public Health. Breona Bittinger, B.S., started working here in 2014. “Bre” is full of energy, bright and always makes our patients feel welcomed and reassured. She is cross trained in front office work, surgical assisting and recovery. Breona has been a wonderful addition to our team.
Canyon County Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery looks forward to serving this community for many more years. I have tremendous respect for my profession, and continue to be challenged and fulfilled each day. It is my honor to take care of people and I look forward to meeting you.
